Make a weekend of it

Explore

If you have time before or after the wedding, Georgian Bay is one of Ontario's most beautiful corners.

On the water

Georgian Bay Islands National Park

Day-trip to Beausoleil Island (the largest island in the park) by water taxi from Honey Harbour. Hiking trails, swimming, and rare wildlife. Park info →

The 30,000 Islands

The largest freshwater archipelago in the world — windswept pines, rocky islets, and crystal water. Take a boat tour from Midland or Penetanguishene.

Boat rentals & charters

Several Honey Harbour and Port Severn marinas rent fishing boats and pontoons. Ask Christie's Mill or Delawana for current local recommendations.

On land

Sainte-Marie among the Hurons

A reconstructed 17th-century French Jesuit mission near Midland — Ontario's first European community. Site info →

Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre

Boardwalks, bird-watching towers, and a working wildlife conservation area in Midland.

Discovery Harbour, Penetanguishene

A restored 19th-century naval and military base on Georgian Bay — wooden ships, costumed interpreters, lakefront walks.

Awenda Provincial Park

Sand beaches, hiking trails, and old-growth forest about 40 minutes from Honey Harbour. Great for a morning walk or swim.

Eats & drinks

Midland and Penetanguishene have the bulk of the restaurants — pubs, patios, and a few standouts on the waterfront. We'll add specific spots we love closer to the date. In the meantime, ask Christie's Mill for current local picks.
